In the 1970s, Pastor Linda felt led by the Holy Spirit to start a women's Bible study in her home. Many women attended and, after hearing Pastor Linda give her testimony of how the Lord had healed her of cancer, received salvation for the first time. In 1980, Pastor Linda and her husband, Nick, opened Sonshine Faith Christian Bookstore, which was located in Ronkonkoma. During this time, Pastor Linda continued her Bible study in the back room of the store. However, it wasn't until after Pastor Linda was ordained in 1984 that she began to see God opening the door to start a church. Finally, in 1986, with the help of God, Pastor Linda and Nick started The Branch of Faith Church, which originally began in the home of their son and daughter-in-love in Port Jefferson Station. The church moved to the VFW Hall, located in Farmingville, in 1989. In 1992, the joy of the Lord flooded our hearts as we began to meet in a building located on Jayne Boulevard in Port Jefferson Station. In July 2014, the church has temporarily relocated to the Comfort Inn in Medford.

In 1991, while still in the VFW Hall, Pastor Tony, his wife, Doreen, and their family first began attending The Branch of Faith Church. He and Doreen, along with Victor and Francine Sacino, began the worship team, The Overcomers. In 1993, Pastor Tony was ordained as a minister and brings forth the Anointed Word. His sons, Anthony and Michael Polzella, joined the worship team; Anthony in 1997 and Michael in 2009. Pastor Tony and the rest of the worship team continue to bless the congregation as they bring God's people up to the throne of God in worship and praise each Sunday.

Pastor Marie and her husband, Jack (a Deacon), along with their family, have been a part of The Branch of Faith Church since it first began. Pastor Marie has been the leader of all children and teen activities since 1986. Ordained in 2001, she is currently the church's Youth Pastor.
